MO AGUSTO is a Lagos-based womenswear brand.
Originally starting off as a made-to-measure atelier, MO AGUSTO debuted its ready-to-wear line at the prestigious Lagos Fashion and Design Week in October 2017, after being selected as one of the platform’s Fashion Focus finalists the previous year.
At the core of the brand are creativity, attention to detail and a passion for the craft of Africa’s indigenous artisans. This, and a love for timeless construction techniques and traditions, is why made-to-measure garment construction remains a part of the brand. The MO AGUSTO artisans combine couture and ready-to-wear construction techniques in the creation of its pieces.
The MO AGUSTO aesthetic involves a unique combination of African and Western inspirations and influences, and the use of traditional and modern silhouettes and textures, in creating collections of ultra feminine special pieces for the contemporary woman.
Motunrayo’s designs reflect her interest in and exploration of garment construction, all the way from textile design and manufacturing to the production of an entire collection of garments.
After studying Economics at the University of Nottingham, she has developed her fashion knowledge and technical skill at Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion and Aston & Hayes. Her studies there focused on fashion design, garment construction, pattern making, fashion marketing and image consulting. She is currently the managing and creative director of MO AGUSTO.
